Stephen Ejbick

Is a Canadian Screen Award winning and Gemini Award nominated Toronto-based freelance sound engineer with specialties ranging from theatrical releases to broadcast, including corporate and commercials media, TV shows, documentaries, reality-based series, and web series.

Stephen began his career in 2008 working at Rogers TV as a live broadcast mixing engineer. In 2010 Stephen left Rogers to work in post production with some of Toronto’s best and brightest sound designers, editors, and mixers, and as an assistant to Allen Ormerod (Mirrophonic Sound, Pathe Sound, Deluxe Toronto, Post City Picture and Sound) where he continued to develop his keen ears and mixing technique. A few years later Stephen began working as a Foley mixer and recordist on large format TV series, further developing his recording capabilities, and as a sound designer for large ad agencies. Working on thousands of films and commercials since, Stephen continues to collaborate with many studios, freelancers, and filmmakers, and contributes recordings regularly to internationally acclaimed sound libraries.

Working as a professional Foley Artist comes with its fair share of perks: I have an excuse for my excessive hoarding tendencies, plus, I always have a reason to visit a flea market, antique shop, or thrift store. Operating a 600 square-foot Foley studio also gives me plenty of space to keep my vast props collection growing!

I graduated from Seneca College in 2012, and early on in my career I had the opportunity to learn from and work with some of the top sound professionals in the city. Since then I have earned 2 Canadian Screen Award nominations, and forged many strong industry relationships.

I have contributed Foley, sound design, as well as field recordings to thousands of hours of film, television, immersive VR, web content, and commercials. As this industry continues to change with new technologies, I continue to change with it, so I can always leave you with the best possible soundtrack for your project!

Began his career working from the ground up in TV stations and with various production companies in the film industry. 7 years since, he has established production companies both in Toronto and China.
Pure passion for this industry and always an early adopter of advancing technologies, he has a keen sense of translating ideas into visual stories. Able to communicate in English, Cantonese and basic Mandarin puts him in an unique position to bring media and ideas to both cultures.
Tony is known to be a problem solver, calm, strategic and always fun and easy going to work with.
Adventurous at heart, you may also catch Tony in the wilderness but always with a camera in hand!
